Mayim Bialik tests positive for COVID-19: it’s no joke

“Danger!” host Mayim Bialik feels “a lot of anxiety” after testing positive for COVID-19.

“I have COVID and it’s no joke here,” a sniffing Bialik, who has been vaccinated and boosted against the virus, said in a video posted to her Podcast’s Instagram account Monday.

The 46-year-old actress added: “It will definitely find us and it did. It’s very tiring… There are many types of COVID… The exhaustion is very special.”

Bialik — who has asthma and thyroid disease — compared the feeling to that of mono, saying that “you need to sleep.”

“I very much regret ever taking my mask off, ever in the world, like even outside,” she said. “I’m still pretty careful… I’m just putting this here. I feel a lot of fear. Why did I ever go out? Why did I ever think anything was good?”

“I try to believe that my body knows what to do,” she said. “I do have asthma. I have thyroid disease, which means it’s an immunocompromised situation.”

In addition to exhaustion, Bialik said she felt a tightness in her chest that “doesn’t feel right at all.”

She shared some of the remedies she was researching to relieve her symptoms, such as ginger and special supplements, adding that she is lucky enough to have access to those options.

“I don’t try to obscure any aspect of this at all. I know there are people who don’t have resources or care and it’s something I’ve been following since the onset of COVID,” she said.

Bialik – who shares two sons with ex-husband Michael Stone – also shared her thoughts on those who have to care for young children, especially single parents, while they have coronavirus.

“This level of exhaustion, I just can’t imagine having to take care of little kids right now and I know so many people in this world are in that situation.”

On Tuesday, she gave an update saying she was “feeling better” and thanked those who contacted her, adding that she’s “back concerned about the world and our health in the world”.
