Maralee Nichols appeared to be trolling Tristan Thompson over his caption claiming he had gotten “wiser.”
The fitness model recently shared a workout selfie on Instagram showing off her fit postpartum figure, writing, “Less time for captions, more time for actions ️️ never skip leg day.”
The seemingly pointy post came just hours after the NBA free agent shared a cryptic message of his own following the birth of his son via surrogate with Khloé Kardashian.
“I never switched sides, I switched lanes. I got wiser and realized we’re not all built the same 🗣🗣👀 #DontTryMe,” he wrote on Instagram.
Fans were quick to flood Nichols’ post with comments about how it appeared to be aimed at Thompson, who has yet to meet their 8-month-old son Theo.
“Oh god, mommy throwing a little shade, yes, he has to go pay ”, commented one follower.
Girl yes live your best life! Looks better then [sic] one of those girls without naming names!” wrote another.
Nichols gave birth to Theo on December 1, 2021, weeks after news broke that she was suing Thompson for child support.
The 31-year-old athlete initially denied paternity until a DNA test showed he was the father of Nichols’ baby. He publicly confirmed the news in January with an Instagram statement apologizing to Kardashian, 38, with whom he also shares 4-year-old daughter True.
Despite promising to raise his son “amicably” with Nichols, the model later claimed that Thompson had “done nothing” for Theo as a father.
“He made no attempt to meet with their son, nor did he provide any financial assistance,” Nichols’ representative said in a statement to Vidak For Congress at the time.
The former Cleveland Cavaliers center is also a father to 5-year-old son Prince with ex Jordan Craig.
