Mama June Shannon sent daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson an apology message for her 17th birthday.
“Hope you have a good day,” the 43-year-old “Mama June: Road to Redemption” star wrote via text message, according to TMZ.
“I am very proud of [you] with everything…graduating from high school that [is] a big problem. I know I put [you] I’ve been through a lot and I’m sorry.”
Shannon went on to say that she is “here now” whenever her daughter needs her.
“I know I’m definitely not perfect, but I’m doing my best,” she wrote. “I know there is a LOT of work and work to be done, but I am confident that [we] shall.”
The reality star closed the message by sending the teen her ‘love’.
Thompson seemed to respond by double tapping the text and “heart” it.
Shannon told the outlet on Tuesday that the high school student thanked her mother in her response, adding that she loves her too.
The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alums have had a tense relationship since Shannon’s 2019 drug possession arrest, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon was given official custody of Thompson in April.
“I see her, I’ll talk to her,” Mama June told Vidak For Congress of the new agreement. “We do communicate. So it was no difference.
“The only difference is that she doesn’t sit here next to me in my house every day,” she explained at the time.
While living apart, Mama June has spoken out about Thompson’s decisions — from her upcoming weight loss surgery to her relationship with 21-year-old Dralin Carswell.
“I’d say she should wait until she’s 18,” Mama June told TMZ last month that her daughter went under the knife.
As for her romance, she admitted to Entertainment Tonight in May that while she approves of Carswell, “he needs to keep a job a little bit more.”
Mama June noted that the student “does not treat” [Thompson] bad or something like that.”
