Lori Harvey’s love life almost went in a completely different direction.
While sitting at the table with Teyana Taylor on Bumble’s “Luv2SeeIt” YouTube series, she revealed that marriage was on the table for her in a previous relationship.
“I got married almost very young,” the 25-year-old said. “I had the feeling that I had actually experienced nothing. I didn’t really know myself, I didn’t really know what I liked, what I didn’t like. I just feel like I haven’t really experienced life.”
Harvey realized it was time for her to start dating… [Harvey’s] own terms” and so the relationship ended.
“However I want to move, whatever I want to do, I’m going to do it. And when it no longer serves me, I move on,” she revealed.
“What I wanted at 21, I don’t want at 25,” she said in the episode. “But at 21 I can’t really talk to where she was. Two different thoughts, you know? I don’t even know her anymore.”
At the age of 25, the model knows what she needs in her future relationships.
“I’m very much in a space right now where I don’t do anything that jeopardizes my peace and happiness. So I think just taking control, making sure you keep your power, don’t give your power away to anyone. That I feel like it’s really the key to being happy in or out of a relationship.
“Not jeopardizing my values and my standards and requirements” is something the model said is an important factor when it comes to her dating life.
The founder of SKN also revealed that she continues to work on her communication skills in her relationships.
Harvey’s most recent relationship was with Michael B. Jordan. The couple started dating in the fall of 2020 and broke up in June 2022.
“Michael has matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready for the long haul,” a source close to the couple told People at the time of the breakup.
“He let his guard down with her and started emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time. They had great times together and brought out the best in each other.”
Harvey’s famous father, Steve Harvey, confirmed the split on June 6 by saying, “I wish them the best. I’m Team Lori, 1,000 percent. She’s my daughter. I love her. I support her.”
The beauty entrepreneur then wiped Jordan from her Instagram a day later, making it clear that their relationship was about herself.
Jordan, 35, was a little late to the game and deleted all of his photos with his ex from Instagram later in June.
