One of the new cast members of the revamped “Real Housewives of New York” is Texan fashion influencer Lizzy Savetsky, Vidak For Congress has learned.
The Fort Worth, Texas native has some 200,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly posts about accessories and her Jewish faith.
She is also a mother of three children and married to plastic surgeon Dr. Ira Savetsky.
The social media star recently spoke publicly about her struggle with alcohol (which, of course, was a recurring theme on the show in the case of several other case members).
The final season of the Bravo show ended with a messy behind-the-scenes standoff between the cast members, not to mention, after fourteen seasons, the distinct smell of a freshly jumped shark. The cast, some of whom have been on the show for 14 years, couldn’t even get it together to record a special reunion.
Now, Bravo has cleared the slate and fired the entire cast of “RHONY” with the intention of bringing some of the original cast back into a separate “legacy” show.
And it seems Savetsky is one of the bright youngsters who need to reinvigorate the (sometimes reluctantly) beloved show.
“Bravo found that people don’t respond very well to the constant bickering and fighting of the… [previous] form. They hope this new cast will be a little more inspiring and will attract the younger audience,” said an insider.
They added that the new women — replacing Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Eboni K. Williams and Leah McSweeney — “are already strong in the influencer space and more ambitious.”
The insider added: “They are women with their own brands, or at least strong Instagram followers.”
Meanwhile, we’re told that Vera Wang executive Priya Shukla is also in the mix for a role on the show, but hasn’t signed up as a full-time cast member.
The Australian mother of two is the SVP of global communications for the iconic designer.
Bravo didn’t call us back.
