Kim’s signature style breaks new ground.
Kim Kardashian today announced her Beats x Kim collection, featuring three neutral-toned versions of the brand’s popular Fit Pro earbuds in her own design.
In an Instagram teaser video she posted earlier today, the reality star wore a metallic bronze zip-front crop top and matching cycling shorts while a team applied her makeup and adjusted the headphones in her ear.
In another post, Kardashian models what looks like the Skims Essential Scoop Neck Bodysuit ($68) with a pair of her brand’s Utility Sport Shorts ($58), all in a bone hue close to one of the color offerings of her new earphones.
“I wanted to break with the idea that headphones have to be colorful to make a statement,” Kardashian said in a press release.
Indeed, she said she “always just wasn’t really vibed” with bright buttons in a series of Instagram stories showcasing her new collaboration.
“I really wanted these to blend in a bit more,” she explained.
The earbuds, which go on sale August 16 on Apple’s website, will cost $199.99 and will be offered in “Moon,” a light cream color; “Dune”, a dark color; and “Earth,” a rich cocoa brown color.
Neutrals are a natural choice for the Skims founder, who today often wears cream, brown, black, silver, and gray (with the occasional touch of pink).
Her Skims clothing line features the same colors across her range of shapewear, swimwear, underwear and lounge pieces, and now the former Mrs. West can match her headphones to her outfits.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Kardashian — dressed in a silver latex bodysuit — said she was already using Beats and found an artist to paint her headphones in neutral colors before deciding to approach the brand to make them.
She added that headphones don’t have to be “anything loud. It can just blend in with what you’re wearing. It’s kind of a statement.”
While it’s likely been a rough week for the entrepreneur — whose split from Pete Davidson was made public on Friday — it seems Kardashian has a lot to celebrate.
