The Queen of Pop would be proud.
Kim Kardashian sat front row at the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show during Paris Fashion Week Wednesday, dressed in a look that referenced one of Madonna’s most memorable (and controversial) outfits of all time.
The skims founder’s slim pinstripe dress featured a striking nude-cupped bodice on the chest, which likely drew double takes from more than a few in attendance.
But Kardashian’s look was downright understated compared to the one that inspired him.
In 1992, the ultimate Gaultier muse Madonna took the runway at an amfAR fashion show in an almost identical striped dress under an oversized blazer, collaborating with the French designer.
As she reached the end of the runway, Madge took off her coat to reveal her outfit’s built-in leather armor, which perfectly framed (and completely exposed) her breasts.
Perhaps Kardashian opted for a toned-down take on Madonna’s shocking gown because her 9-year-old daughter, North West, attended Wednesday’s show — as did her mom, Kris Jenner.
Still, she put her own edgy spin on the peekaboo style by adding a chunky silver collar and chain-trimmed nose ring, a nod to Gaultier’s Spring 1994 “Les Tatouages” collection; North even matched it with a faux piercing of her own.
Kardashian, 41, has had headlines week in Paris. Earlier on Wednesday, the platinum-haired reality star walked the runway of Balenciaga’s show, along with other celebrity models such as Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa and ‘Selling Sunset’ star Christine Quinn.
Blame it on her ‘Blonde Ambition’.
