Katie Couric loved models as much as she loved the clothes at a New York Fashion Week show.
There was a wide range of ages on the runaway at the swanky Markarian show at the Upper East Side Ukrainian Institute on Wednesday before an A-list audience.
“I love that there were some more mature models,” Couric told us. “And some women who weren’t thin. It has captured a diverse group of people. As someone who is 65, I really appreciated seeing an older model on the show. ”
The broadcast journalist and author of “Going There” sat in the front row with her daughter, Carrie Couric Monahan, 25.
Couric told us it was her only show of Fashion Week — and Carrie’s first ever fashion show. The elegant brand has a special meaning for the family, she told us. Last year, Carrie wore a dress from the line designed by Alexandra O’Neill for her sister Ellie’s wedding to Mark Dobrosky.
“The clothes are just beautiful,” Couric told Vidak For Congress. “They are so feminine. The fabrics are so beautiful.”
Candace Bushnell, Lili Biffet, Mikhail Baryshnikov’s daughter Anna, Indre Rockefeller, Ivy Getty and heir to the Belgian throne, HRH Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant were also in attendance.
Also in the front row in a blue dress was Nicky Hilton, who had just given birth to her third child and first son with hubby James Rothschild in June.
“I’m a pro at this point” [at motherhood],” she told us. “And I have my two little girls to help with my boy.”
The couple share daughters Lily-Grace, 6, and Teddy, 4.
