The breaking of a move broke his back.
Josh Duhamel was rushed to the emergency room just hours before marrying his wife Audra Mari earlier this month.
The former election queen, 28, told Vogue Australia on Wednesday that the “Transformers” star, 49, threw his back out after “pulling some wild dance moves” on a party bus the night before the big day.
On the morning of the wedding, doctors discovered that Duhamel had dropped a disc, but the “Safe Haven” star and his wife simply said, “Cue the cortisone shot and let’s get married!”
By the time Duhamel and Mari got married, the former soap star was feeling much better and was even able to dance next to his bride for their first dance to Jordan Davis’ “Buy Dirt.”
The couple decided to get married in North Dakota, as that is their home state.
“It was the most important thing for us,” Marie told Vogue Australia. “Not only is it our home, but it was so convenient for everyone we wanted to reach.
“I think the romantic in me always feels like we’re two small town kids from North Dakota who found each other in Los Angeles. But we will always be at home, wherever we are in the world.”
Duhamel and Mari were introduced in March 2019 by a mutual friend in Los Angeles.
Nearly two years later, the “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!” star asked the former Miss World America to marry him with a message in a bottle when proposing on the beach.
“I cried, he cried – I’m not sure I even answered his question, I was so shocked!” Mari said about her engagement. “He stared at me a little longer and said, “Well…?” And I looked at him and laughed and said, “Well, duh!”. It was the easiest ‘yes’ there ever was.”
This is Mari’s first marriage, but Duhamel was previously married to Fergie, from 2017 to 2019. They share 9-year-old son Axl.
