Josh Duggar Under Strict Prison Rules After Child Porn Conviction

Josh Duggar will be subject to some no-nonsense rules during his long stay at the Federal Correctional Institution in Seagoville, Texas.

The former ’19 Kids and Counting’ star – who was sentenced to 12 years in prison in May for receiving and possessing child pornography – is expected to care for his cell.

According to TMZ, Duggar’s bed must be made “military style” by 7:30 a.m. on weekdays at the latest, and daily duties include sweeping and mopping floors, emptying the trash and cleaning the walls.

“While he is serving his sentence in a low-security prison, the strict rules of conduct also suggest that inmates must stop talking loudly, play cards, dominoes and games by 9:15 p.m.,” the outlet reports.

“Inmates must return to their rooms by 11 p.m. and all noise, including TVs, must be turned off by midnight.”

As previously reported, Duggar, 34, was accused of downloading child porn files onto a computer at his now-closed used car dealership over the course of three days in May 2019.

He was found guilty in December 2021 of receiving and possessing photos and videos of child abuse after a six-day trial in his home state of Arkansas. The jury deliberated for seven hours.

TMZ adds that in order to keep Duggar busy during the day during his time in prison, he can participate in jobs like painting, landscape detailing, welding and eating.

The former reality star is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors, including his own seven children – daughter Mackynzie, 12, son Michael, 11, son Marcus, 9, daughter Meredith, 6, son Mason, 4, daughter Maryella, 2, and daughter Madyson, 8 months – who he shares with his wife, Anna Duggar, 33.

Once out of prison, he will also be subject to strict probation rules, including watching porn and spending time with his children.

He will reportedly be banned from accessing or viewing any form of porn, including adult porn, and will not be allowed to use the internet without first obtaining permission from a probation officer.

Additionally, Josh is only allowed to see his children if his wife or parents—Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar—or another court-approved adult is present.

Prior to his conviction, the former used car salesman was active in conservative politics and worked on the Republican presidential campaign of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.
