Jill Zarin’s daughter, Ally Shapiro, shocked TikTok by telling how a sperm bank made a big mess that caused her to find her biological father.
“When I was 20 years old and going into my senior year of college, I found an email on my mother’s computer asking her why I was the only one with blue eyes and smaller and fatter than everyone else in my life. family,” Shapiro, now 29, wrote of a video of himself dancing Wednesday.
Shapiro recalled asking her mother about the email in which the 58-year-old “Real Housewives of New York City” revealed that she and her then-husband Steven Shapiro had used a sperm donor to have their daughter.
“I never knew (they divorced when I was 4),” Ally clarified in her viral TikTok post.
Zarin then gave her daughter the sperm donor details and Ally eventually found a sister and six brothers.
“We finally found our donor father and some of us even met!” she wrote.
But three years later, a man contacted Ally after a 23andMe DNA test, saying he matched her biological father 100 percent.
“We discovered that the sperm bank was swapping the sperm — now this man was my biological father and not the one to talk to with all my new siblings 😢,” wrote the Jill & Ally co-founder. “And now I have 4 new sisters and a lot of fathers!”
Ally’s TikTok followers immediately flooded the comment section of her post asking her to share more details about the wild story.
Damn Bravo could have had a whole spin-off. With respect, of course,” wrote one.
“Oh, this is tea ,” a second person commented, while another wrote, “Well this… this here is a lot to unpack .”
“A modern mama mia story,” joked a fourth netizen.
“I NEED ANDY AND A CAMERA,” added another, referring to Andy Cohen.
However, this isn’t the first time Ally has served up her father drama.
She exclusively told Vidak For Congress in March 2020 that she was excited to learn she had siblings, only to find out they weren’t related.
“I think if I had a deeper connection, I would have been gutted,” she told us at the time, recalling when she found out the sperm bank had made a mistake. “I felt like I had been lying to them all these years.”
Zarin and Steven welcomed Ally in 1991. They divorced in 1998 after nearly a decade of marriage. The former Bravolebrity married Bobby Zarin in 2000, but he died of cancer in 2018.
Zarin has since moved on with boyfriend Gary Brody.
