Jill Zarin closes the door on her decades-long friendship with Dorinda Medley.
“I love her and I loved her. I kept trying to rekindle that friendship, but I’m done. I’m not going to try again,” Zarin, 58, told Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” on Thursday.
The star of “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club” explained that although she and Medley, 57, left Bluestone Manor on “good terms”, she can’t have anyone in her life who “comes[s] so to me.”
“I wouldn’t let people I love and adore talk to me like that, let alone someone like her. I just wouldn’t do it, and I said that, I said, ‘Don’t talk to me like that,’ very calmly,’ she added.
Zarin and Medley, who have both starred in “The Real Housewives of New York City” for several seasons, added that there are underlying issues they need to address, but she won’t until Medley “fixes” her drinking.
“Honestly, we’re never really going to tackle it until the whole drinking and all that hassle has to be sorted out,” Zarin said.
“There’s a lot of stuff out there, but I’m not a doctor, I’m not a therapist, I’m not even a good friend enough to actually get that with Dorinda, but someone has to get there with her. I mean, I don’t want that something happens to her, and I’m worried.”
When asked about the possibility of being re-paired to star in “RHONY Legacy,” Zarin admitted she has no control over the casting, but insinuated that Medley’s drinking would be a problem.
“I don’t even know what to say because I can’t argue and fight with alcohol. I’m not talking to her, I’m talking to this brown drink,” Zarin said.
The Bravolebrities’ tension reached a breaking point during an explosive argument after Medley called Zarin a “lap dog” and “thirsty” in a recent episode of the Peacock spin-off. The fight escalated to Medley’s screams and Zarin’s sobbing.
“I’m so fucking losing it, you know what honestly I’ve been such a good friend to her, I’ve held back so much with Dorinda, because I’m giving her such a pass,” Zarin said at the time.
“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club” is available to stream on Peacock.
