Florence Pugh confirmed that she and Zach Braff quietly broke up in early 2022 after dating for nearly three years.
“We’ve been trying to get this divorce through without the world knowing because it’s been a relationship that everyone has an opinion about,” Pugh told Harper’s Bazaar in her September 2022 cover story, published Tuesday. “We just felt like something like that would really benefit us if we didn’t have millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together.
“So we did. I automatically get a lump in my throat when I talk about it.”
During their relationship, the 26-year-old ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ star often hit back at the critical comment she and the ‘Scrubs’ alum, 47, received about their age difference.
Pugh reiterated to the glossy that she doesn’t think she should be broken up because of her career choice.
“Every time I feel like that line has been crossed in my life, whether it’s paparazzi taking private moments, or moments that aren’t even real, or gossip channels encouraging members of the public to share private moments of famous people who walking down the street ,,I think it’s incredibly wrong,” she said.
“I don’t think people should watch and write about every aspect of their lives just because they have this job. We didn’t sign up for a reality TV show.”
Braff has not publicly commented on their split.
Vidak For Congress broke the news in October 2019 that the “Garden State” star and “Little Women” actress were spotted getting cozy at a Whole Foods in Hollywood.
“It was very clear to me that they are a couple,” a source told us at the time.
Pugh confirmed the romance two months later when she snapped back at an internet troll for insulting the age difference in her relationship.
