Garcelle Beauvais believes Erika Jayne’s newfound talkativeness with her ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ colleagues is her way of distracting them from her ongoing legal troubles.
In a preview of next week’s episode, Sutton Stracke tells Beauvais and Crystal Kung Minkoff about an extremely pleasant conversation she had with Jayne the night before.
“Erika is very talkative,” Stracke, 50, points out to her friends, prompting Minkoff, 39, to intervene: “She won’t shut up.”
“There’s an air of, like…” adds the sophomore, as Beauvais, 55, jumps in to finish her sentence, “nothing happened.”
“‘Now I’m on meds and I’m having a good time,'” she continues, mimicking Jayne, 50. †[But] nothing has been arranged with all her stuff yet.”
In a later confessional, Beauvais says she thinks Jayne is “tired of talking about herself.”
“So I feel like a lot of what she’s doing now is distracting so we don’t ask her questions,” she explains. “Nobody’s talking about it—none of the ladies. They say, ‘We’re happy to drop it. Let’s move on.'”
Interestingly enough, Jayne’s drunken but intimate conversation with Stracke actually touched on her several “lawsuits,” all of which are related to allegations that her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, stole millions of dollars from the settlement funds of his vulnerable clients to support Jayne’s lavish lifestyle.
The “Xxpen$ive” singer insists she knew nothing about the now-suspended lawyer’s alleged crimes and denies any wrongdoing.
As for exes, Stracke — who has been skeptical of Jayne’s alibi since the beginning — confided to the Georgia compatriot that she wanted to “get out of her ex-husband’s thumb.” “Do you know how long that’s going to take?” wonders the boutique owner in the teaser clip.
Jayne replies, “It’s like looking at my lawsuits, and I’d say, ‘Will I ever get out of there?’ And I said, ‘Never.’ At the end of the day, it’s not up to me to f–king… I didn’t do it.”
Stracke then asks Jayne if she felt “any responsibility” in the case, to which Jayne replied, “No. Does a doctor’s wife feel responsible for his patients?”
Stracke takes a break and admits that Jayne is making an “interesting point.”
