Derek Jeter is a proud girl father.
The former New York Yankees shortstop opened up in a candid new interview about his life at home with three daughters under the age of 5.
“The mornings are early,” he told “Extra” on Thursday. “They get up — they’re not in school now — but drop them off at school, pick them up. Tennis lessons, ballet lessons.”
Jeter, 48, joked that he has “a whole different side” to him these days, explaining, “I get my nails done and makeup on my face, dresses.”
The baseball player turned principal shares Bella, 4, Story, 3, and River, 7 months, with his wife, Hannah Jeter.
Because his girls are so young, Derek said they don’t know that their father is a sports legend and a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
“They have no idea,” he said. “They know I played for the Yankees. You know, they see me on TV. They recognize me, especially on this documentary [‘The Captain’ on ESPN]. But other than that they have no idea, and I like that.”
Former Miami CEO Marlins and Hannah, 32, tied the knot in 2016 and celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary earlier this month.
“I don’t know if there’s a secret” [to our marriage], but we’ve been through a lot,” Derek, who recently joined Instagram, told the outlet. ‘We have three children under the age of five. You know, I’ve lived in Tampa for over 20 years. Shortly after we got married, we moved to Miami. I had a career switch. And then, you know, she signed off on me retiring.
“In the end, I don’t think I’ll ever retire, because you’re always doing something. It’s just finding time for you two.”
