Can you “believe” it?
Cher made a surprise cameo at Paris Fashion Week 2022 on Wednesday, closing out the Balmain runway show in a figure-hugging marbled black bodysuit with bold shoulders, teamed with matching leggings.
The 76-year-old pop icon wore her stuff in a pair of black platform boots as her 1998 hit “Strong Enough” played in the background.
Cher was joined on the catwalk by Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing.
And the hitmaker “If I Could Turn Back Time” wasn’t the only big name modeler on the show; Ashley Graham and Kristen McMenamy were among the others in the cast.
Meanwhile, stars like Kylie Jenner, Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz and Dove Cameron watched the spectacle from the front row.
“JUST HAD THE BEST TIME, ON THE STAGE… LOVED,” Cher tweeted after the performance.
“SHOW WAS PROBABLY” [THE] BEST FASHION SHOW ‘EVER’…CLOTHING 2 THAT 4.”
Rousteing raved about the casting coup in a press release, saying, “Cher has been a bold pioneer for over six decades, a true pioneer, never slowing down and always pulling us with her as she bravely marches forward.”
The designer continued, “’Style Icon’ comes close to defining more than half a century of fashion trends. And in this challenging time that forces us to fight for much-anticipated change, her impressive, long-standing commitment to dedicated activism sets an example for all.”
Indeed, the trendsetting Taurus was the first to sport some bold looks that have since become ubiquitous on the red carpet, from the “naked” dress to the towering headpiece.
“She was never intimidated by anything I ever did to her,” Bob Mackie — the designer behind many of Cher’s most iconic looks — told Town & Country in a recent interview. “She was just amazing in that department.”
