Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, honored the late actor six months after his untimely death with an emotional tribute video.
“Six months without my best friend, my travel buddy, my loving husband,” Rizzo, 43, captioned the post shared on her Instagram on Saturday. “Six months without your silliness, laughter, music, cuteness, caring, sharp humor, thoughtfulness, cuddling and warmth.”
Rizzo shared that in the midst of her heartbreak, she has learned a lot about the people she has surrounded herself with.
“It was also 6 months searching for silver linings, learning how to face the world without you, 6 months of care and compassion from so many who love you, 6 months of getting even closer to your magical daughters and trying to be strong all together . Continue to love, laugh and live for six months because that’s what you would want… what you would insist on,” she wrote.
The video montage captured sweet moments between Rizzo and the ‘Full House’ star, including her taking a cigar from his mouth and the comedian pretending to lift rolls of toilet paper instead of weights. She also recorded clips of Saget showing off in costumes and Snapchat filters, as well as various memories they shared, such as walking hand-in-hand and attending a concert together.
“Even though you’d like to make sure we all still miss you…and dear God, we do someday,” she wrote. “We miss you so much, every day. I love you baby, the world is still not the same without you.”
Close friends of Rizzo flooded the comment section with love and support, including Selma Blair, Amanda Kloots, Whitney Cummings and Jana Kramer.
The former host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” died on January 9 in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, aged 65.
His death was “the result of blunt head trauma” and he had suffered multiple skull fractures prior to his death, which were considered an accident according to his autopsy.
“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, didn’t think about it and went to sleep. There were no drugs or alcohol involved,” his family said in a statement at the time.
Days later, hordes of celebrities attended his funeral, including Dave Chappelle, Kathy Griffin, Howie Mandel, Jimmy Kimmel and Jeff Ross, who served as pallbearer alongside John Mayer, Jonathan Silverman, Mike Young, Ted Sarandos, Steve Hale and Saget’s Full House. co-stars Dave Coulier and John Stamos.
Fellow “Full House” alums Candace Cameron Bure and Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen also attended the “America’s Dad” memorial service.
Since his death, Rizzo said she has developed a close relationship with Saget’s three daughters, Aubrey, 35, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29, whom he shared with his first wife, Sherrie Kramer.
Saget and Kramer divorced in 1997 and he married Rizzo in 2018.
“I would call it more than getting along, we love each other very much and talk or text every day,” Rizzo said in June of her relationship with the strip’s daughters. “We’re just so, so grateful to be as close as we are because that’s not always the case with stepfamilies.”
