Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar will headline

With tickets, tents and loads of booze in hand, over 200,000 music devils arrived at Worthy Farm in England for Glastonbury Festival this year

Day one of the iconic musical extravaganza brought the heat in more ways than one, as the legendary festival returned after a two-year delay.

Fans had to wait patiently after the highly anticipated 50th anniversary party, slated for 2020, was canceled due to the pandemic…and again the following year.

But if there’s any consolation, it was well worth the wait.

Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar will headline Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively, while Diana Ross will fill the Sunday legends.

But it wouldn’t be a normal festival without some last minute disruptions.

This week’s ongoing rail strikes overtaking the UK caused problems for some after 40,000 staffers staged a strike on Tuesday and planned to do the same on Thursday and Saturday.

Those who did make it to the festival are in for a weekend full of action and non-stop music.

Day one of the festival – which runs through Sunday, June 26 – set the tone for the entire weekend as various DJ sets popped up in Worthy Farm throughout the day as more and more music lovers arrived.

Thursday’s biggest acts will take to the Glade stage for a day of classic bangers.

“Cola” hitmakers Camelphat are set to close out the evening as the last act of the day. For them, British musician Franky Wah treats fans to an electric dance set.

Other performers on the day include an exclusive DJ hybrid performance, as well as one of the most famous founding fathers of house music, Marshall Jefferson, who has been a staple on Chicago’s music scene since its inception.

‘BMW’ hitmakers Bad Boy Chiller Crew take the stage at The Rabbit Hole to close out the evening.

Friday’s first headliner night is guaranteed to be a hit with the crowd and those watching from their couch.

Billie Eilish closes the evening as the last act of the day. The Academy Award and seven-time Grammy Award winner is expected to perform her greatest hits – old and new – during her hour-and-a-half set on the Pyramid Stage.

Up-and-coming British singer Sam Fender will warm up the stage for Eilish.

English rock band Foals will be heading to Other Stage as fans can expect the band to rock the crowd to their new song, “2am”.

On West Holts Stage, British rapper and star of Netflix’s “Top Boy” Little Simz will deliver an energetic rap set.

The one and only Paul McCartney is the main act on the fourth action day of the festival.

McCartney will be the last to head to the Pyramid Stage and will continue right after Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – a band made up of Oasis star Gallagher, guitarist Russell Pritchard, drummer Chris Sharrock and keyboardist Mikey Rowe.

Before then, fans can watch the Haim sisters perform their hit songs during their hour-long set. They take over the stage after British grime rapper AJ Tracey.

On Other Stage, Megan Thee Stallion gets festival-goers excited with her flirty rap set.

“Good 4 u” hitmaker Olivia Rodrigo will also perform on Other Stage, as well as British band Glass Animals, known for their mega hit “Heat Waves”.

Festival-goers will attend the Glastonbury Festival near the village of Pilton in Somerset, South West England, on June 22, 2022.

Fourteen-time Grammy Award winner – who is also a Pulitzer Prize winner for music – Kendrick Lamar will be rocking the Pyramid Stage on Sunday as the festival’s final headlining act.

Lamar’s performance comes shortly after the release of his new album ‘Mr. Morality and the great steppers.”

Elsewhere, icon Diana Ross will fill Sunday’s teatime legends slot ahead of Lorde’s performance on the main stage.

On Other Stage, country star Kacey Musgraves performs during her hour-long set.

“Boom Clap” hitmaker Charlie XCX will grace the John Peel Stage for a one hour and 15 minute set.
