Sweet dreams (are made of ink).
Iconic Scottish Annie Lennox finally got her first tattoo at age 67 and showed it off on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Have my first tattoo,” the “Walking on Broken Glass” singer succinctly wrote the big reveal, thanking Asa Lee Crow IV at Hollywood’s Shamrock Social Club.
Crow’s Instagram is chock full of black and white designs, but for Lennox, he added a bit of color: The tat shows a bold red heart flanked by two black hummingbirds, perhaps inspired by her song “Little Bird” from her 1992 album “Diva.”
“Fantastic . Never too late . Rock n Roll Annie ❤️😍❤️😍”, commented one fan on Lennox’s message.
Another asked, ‘Were they nervous? Getting Annie Lennox her first tattoo is a big responsibility.”
When asked where the tattoo is on Lennox’s body, the star replied: “Behind my hip…😎”
Fans also debated the meaning in the comments section, guessing, “Hummingbird means healing and divine messenger.”
Perhaps Lennox was inspired by daughter Tali Lennox, 29, who has “follow the light” inked on her arm as a constant reminder.
The “Why” singer shares Tali and her older sister Lola, 31, with ex-husband Uri Fruchtmann, a film producer who has worked on films including 1997’s “Spice World.”
Annie rose to fame in the 1980s as a member of the Eurythmics with Dave Stewart, and they released huge hits for years, including “Here Comes the Rain Again.” They broke up in the ’90s, rarely played together and didn’t speak to each other for years after breaking up before reuniting on stage in 2019.
The group’s unexpected reunion – and Lennox’s first tat – prove that it’s never too late to try something new.
