Amanda Bynes and Paul Michael have broken off their engagement, according to a new report. However, the couple remains in a relationship.
“They’re still together as a couple, but they’ve called off their engagement and wedding planning,” a source told Entertainment Tonight Friday, adding that the couple called off “sometime in 2021.”
“They’ve been through ups and downs, together and personally, realizing that they may have moved on quickly, but they love each other and are still committed to each other.”
The 36-year-old “Easy A” actress announced her engagement to Michael — whom she met in an austere residential facility — Valentine’s Day 2020, flaunting a huge emerald-cut diamond ring on Instagram at the time. Although it was reported that the couple broke up the following month, Michael later told Vidak For Congress that they never broke up, which still appears to be the case.
†[Bynes and Michael] are still in a committed relationship and take their relationship seriously,” added the ET source. “They now wear rings to show their loyalty to each other and as a symbol of learning and growing together, but the rings aren’t everything to them.”
The couple is also focused on their own personal growth as they navigate their relationship.
“Amanda looks amazing and has had many difficult and important experiences that have made her an incredible woman. She’s sober, kills it and does it better than ever,” the source continues. “Paul is studying law after 10 years working in health care and doing well.”
Bynes’s attorney did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
