Ioan Gruffudd’s estranged wife, Alice Evans, posted screenshots of text messages the actor allegedly sent to their 12-year-old daughter during their custody battle.
In the first conversation, shared on Instagram on Sunday, Gruffudd, 48, appeared to write that he couldn’t see Ella because his girlfriend, Bianca Wallace, had to be “extra safe” because of “medication she took for her” multiple sclerosis. .
“Daddy, I don’t want to meet Bianca. I was just talking about me, you and Elsie going to universal studios,” Ella is said to have replied, referring to her 8-year-old sister.
The “Titanic” actor reportedly replied that he was “conscious” but that he should remain “cautious” for the sake of Wallace’s health.
“What do you suggest we do outside and away from crowded areas?” he reportedly asked Ella, to which she told him, “Forget it then.”
Evans, 53, claimed in her Instagram caption that the dialogue isn’t the first time Gruffudd has come up with “some bulls – no reason he can’t see their kids”.
The “Vampire Diaries” alum posted another screenshot of a lengthy text Gruffudd allegedly sent to Ella when he told her he couldn’t take her to a concert.
“This is not a friendly and loving father-daughter relationship,” he appeared to write, claiming that the preteen last time they spoke “threatened” to call Child Protective Services and hacked into his Instagram to post “disgusting” comments.
“A lot needs to be done before something like this can become possible,” the message continued. “I am in therapy, you will also have to go to therapy again. Until then, we cannot proceed as if nothing had happened, because your actions have been far too serious.”
Evans posted the exchanges to show her Instagram followers the “difference in the way my husband presents his relationships with his kids and reality,” she wrote.
The “102 Dalmatians” star also uploaded a video of herself crying as she read court documents filed by her ex requesting joint custody of their two daughters.
In the documents, Gruffudd accused Evans of verbally abusing him during their 14-year marriage – even adding that she mocked his hair loss and told him he had “droopy vagina eyes”.
“Alice regularly told me, in front of the kids, that she wanted a divorce, that I was stupid and a failure, and that she would call the police if I didn’t do what she asked,” Gruffudd claimed. Evans denies the allegations.
Gruffudd filed for divorce in March 2021, two months after they left their home.
At the time, Evans announced their separation via Twitter, claiming that Gruffudd would “leave his family”.
The “Fantastic Four” actor filed a restraining order against his estranged wife in February of the following year.
“Alice threatened to tell people that I abused her and our daughters,” his petition read. “Threatened to call the police if I didn’t comply with their demands…threatened to tell people I’m a drug addict and put me in jail…threaten to write a fake diary that reflected an abused victim, and have the diary published; and…threatened to destroy my mother.”
The estranged couple, who married in 2007, have had a bitter divorce battle, with Evans regularly taking to social media to criticize her ex – including accusing him and Wallace, 31, of a two-year affair.
Gruffudd’s representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
