Britney Spears posts video, declines Oprah interview

Britney Spears tells her story in her own words.

The pop superstar released a bombshell 22-minute audio clip on YouTube on Sunday about the “abuse” she experienced as a result of her conservatory, and also shared why she turned down “a lot of money” to do an all-encompassing interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“I’m not getting anything out of sharing all this,” said Spears, 40. “I’ve got offers to do interviews with Oprah and so many people [for] a lot of money, but it’s insane. I don’t want any of it. For me, it goes further than a well-seated interview.”

The “Hold Me Closer” singer again lashed out at her family in the since-deleted audio, explaining that she felt they had abandoned her during her conservatory.

“They literally killed me. They threw me out,” Spears said. “I felt like my family was throwing me out. I performed in front of thousands of people in Vegas at night, the thrill of the performance, the laughter, the respect … I was a machine I was an af-king machine, almost no human being. It was insane.”

The Grammy winner also confirmed her earlier claim that she was forcibly committed to a mental institution in early 2019 because she objected to a dance move during one of her rehearsals.

In the audio, she described the invasive conditions at the facility, in which she reportedly had to undress in front of others and undergo “militant” forms of therapy.

“They put me in an ignorant frame of mind to make me feel like I needed them,” she said, adding that she was reportedly told, “If you don’t do what we say, we’re going to show you who’s boss.” is .”

Spears claimed she was forced to tell the public she was seeking treatment because of her father Jamie Spears’ illness, but behind closed doors she “wept” to her father and then curator, Jamie Spears, and her team.

“I was like, ‘Why are you doing this?'” the “Stronger” singer told them, adding that Jamie’s last words to her were reportedly: “Now you don’t have to go, but if you don’t If you don’t don’t go, we go to trial and you’re going to lose I have a lot more people on my side than you [do]. You don’t even have a lawyer, so don’t even think about it.”

Britney went on to describe the amount of control Jamie and his fellow curators had over her, saying she once had a “secret relationship” with an unnamed man.

“I was talking to a man, and he just wanted to get out of the country with me. We had prepared everything to leave, and it was a secret relationship,” she said.

The “Crossroads” star claimed she told her assistant at the time, “My biggest fear was ‘What would my dad do if I did something wrong? What if they found me? What would they do?’ … And she looked at me and said, ‘Are you kidding, Britney? Your father would never do that to you.’”

Britney said that despite everything that has happened between her and her father, she is “more honest” angry with her mother, Lynne Spears, because when reporters called the matriarch, she would reportedly “hide innocently” and not stand up for her. daughter.

“I feel like she could have gotten me a lawyer in literally two seconds,” the Overprotected singer said. “My boyfriend eventually helped me get one, but every time I contacted a company, my phone was tapped and my phone was taken from me.”

Mathew Rosengart, the former federal prosecutor who helped free Britney from her conservatory in November 2021, is actively investigating allegations that Jamie and his fellow conservators spy on the music superstar.

“How the hell did they get away?” Britney said in Sunday’s audio clip. “How is there a God? Is there a God? … I’m sharing this because I want people to know that I’m only human. I feel like a victim of these experiences, and how can I fix this if I don’t talk about it?”

In February, Vidak For Congress reported exclusively that Britney is working on a $15 million landmark book deal to share even more details about her story, per publishing sources.

Representatives of the “Toxic” singer declined to comment at the time.
