Pete Davidson is ready for fatherhood.
The comedian admitted in a new interview with Kevin Hart that he dreams of becoming a father.
†[I’m] definitely a family man. My favorite thing ever, yet to accomplish, is that I want a kid,” said Tuesday in a sneak peek of Peacock’s “Hart to Heart.”
“That’s just my dream,” Kim Kardashian’s 28-year-old friend added.
When Davidson started justifying his wishes and calling it “super corny,” Hart jumped in and said, “It’s not super corny, it’s the best damn thing you can do in life.”
With the reassurance, Davidson went on, saying he thinks fatherhood “would be just so much fun” and using it as a way to better himself.
“I’m just so excited for that chapter, so that’s exactly what I’m preparing for right now. I’m just trying to be as good as a guy, and develop and get better so that when that happens it’s just easier.
The two comedians also spoke about how their experiences with childhood trauma at a young age shaped the outcome of their lives, often using comedy as a form of therapy.
“I tell my friends all the time I’m like, ‘If everything was okay, if my childhood was good, I’d probably be a construction worker on Staten Island,’ Davidson joked. “I’d be the happiest man ever, but It’s the weird things it does to you that make me love comedy.”
Davidson lost his father in the fire service in the September 11 terrorist attack when he was only 7 years old. He has been open about suffering from depression and attempted suicide by drowning when he was 9.
While the “SNL” alum’s love of comedy grew out of a place of pain, it also introduced him to girlfriend Kardashian.
The couple have been dating since she hosted the sketch comedy show in October 2021 and the funny man is spending more time with her four children, who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West. Davidson went so far as to tattoo the initials of Kardashian and her children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, on his neck.
While the couple is in no rush to have a child of their own, their steamy romance may just speed up the process.
Davidson’s full interview with Hart will be out on Peacock on July 14.
