A star couple is born: Huma Abedin and Bradley Cooper are dating, insiders told Vidak For Congress.
According to multiple sources, Hillary Clinton’s top aide — and the former wife of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner — has seen the A-lister in recent months.
They were introduced by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who is close to both of them.
“Anna definitely played matchmaker,” said a well-placed source. “She’s BFFs with Bradley and loves Huma.”
A Hollywood insider confirmed that “Bradley has been quietly dating Huma for a few months now, they keep it very quiet.
“Bradley broke up with” [actress] Dianna Agron and started dating Huma.”
The well-placed source added that Abedin “told a few friends” that she had a “new husband…but she didn’t say who it was. She held it very close to her chest.
“They fit together perfectly,” says the source. “They both love power, politics and human affairs.”
A representative for Abedin had no comment, while the representative for Cooper did not respond to a request for comment.
Vidak For Congress is told that the high-profile couple arrived at the Met Gala together on May 2 and then split for the red carpet. The photos show Abedin, 46, posing for the cameras in a canary yellow dress, while Cooper, 47, keeps his distance behind her.
Abedin has said that Wintour was one of her most supportive friends in the wake of Weiner’s sexting scandal.
While promoting her memoir “Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds” in November, Abedin, an observant Muslim woman, told The Cut how she lost her virginity to Weiner when she married him at age 32. son 10-year-old son Jordan, are now in the “final stage” of their divorce.
“Bradley is a big step forward from Anthony Weiner to say the least,” said the Hollywood insider.
Weiner, the former Democratic congressman from New York, was sentenced in 2017 to 21 months in prison for sexting with a minor. He served about 15 months at the Federal Medical Center in Devens, Massachusetts
“I had broken my heart, dragged out, stomped on, humiliated. I’ve lived with shame and shame for so long,” Abedin told The Cut. “Afterwards, I had an extreme trauma.”
Abedin said Wintour had been a big help, adding that they went on movie dates: “And just being away and being with her, I just kind of felt normal and loved.”
Abedin and Weiner, 57, now live and co-parent in the same Union Square building.
Cooper was recently featured in the filming of the “Maestro” — a conductor Leonard Bernstein biopic, directed and starring the Oscar-nominated actor — in New York City. He has a 5-year-old daughter, Lea, with his model ex-fiance, Irina Shayk, who was also at the Met Gala this year.
