Luann de Lesseps wants to be cast in ‘Funny Girl’ amid uproar

Hello, Countess!

Housewife’s cabaret singer Luann de Lesseps is more than willing to take over the role of Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” on Broadway.

“Just call me. I’m in! #FunnyGirl @FunnyGirlBwy,” the reality star, 57, tweeted monday

Like de Lesseps, Broadway this week was in an uproar over the backstage intrigue and casting news surrounding the musical’s revival.

Current star Beanie Feldstein announced Sunday night that she would be stepping out of the show at the end of the month instead of September 25, barely four months since she started playing the role dreamed up by Barbra Streisand.

“When production decided to steer the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to step out earlier than expected,” the “Impeachment: American Crime Story” star wrote cryptically on Instagram.

Vidak For Congress exclusively reported that Feldstein, 29, was “essentially fired” due to poor reviews of her performance and declining ticket sales, but producers “dazzled” with her social media statement.

The next day, the “Funny Girl” team hastily announced that “Glee” alum Lea Michele will be taking on the iconic character — a role she’s long coveted.

“A dream come true is an understatement,” Michele, 35, wrote on Instagram. “I am so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage to play Fanny Brice on Broadway.”

De Lesseps, who has released singles like “Money Can’t Buy You Class” and “Feelin’ Jovani”, headlined her own cabaret show in 2018 called #CountessandFriends. She has been on the road with the show ever since.
