Steve Burton is officially ending his marriage to estranged wife Sheree Gustin after more than two decades together.
The “General Hospital” alum filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split, TMZ reported. He named March 1 as the date of divorce.
The “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem” star and Gustin, 47, married in January 1999 and have three children: 18-year-old Makena, 16-year-old Jack and 8-year-old Brooklyn.
The 52-year-old soap actor is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the children. He also wants the court to end both parties’ ability to receive spousal support once they legally separate.
A representative for Steve did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
Steve’s divorce petition comes two months after he accused Gustin of being pregnant with another man’s baby.
“I wanted to clarify something. Sheree and I are divorced,” Burton’s Instagram post began. “She recently announced that she is expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine.”
He continued: “We are still co-parenting our three beautiful children. We value privacy at this time. Much love, Steve.”
Gustin has not yet acknowledged the allegations.
Burton was released from “General Hospital” after refusing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I know there’s been a lot of rumors and speculation about me and General Hospital, and I wanted you to hear it from me personally,” Burton said in a video at the time.
“Unfortunately, ‘General Hospital’ has let me go because of the vaccine mandate.”
Burton had been part of the soap opera since 1991, occasionally playing Jason Morgan for the past 30 years.
