Using a database of Apple Maps and GPS, the Apple Watch can automatically determine whether you have stepped onto an outdoor jogging track if you enable the Track Detection feature.
You can acquire more accurate distance measurements and a more precise route map by using the Workout app, which allows you to select the lane of the track you are jogging in while you are exercising. You also have the option to receive lap notifications that provide information regarding the distance, amount of time, and pace as you finish each lap.
Models of the Apple Watch running watchOS 9.2 and later are eligible to access the feature. watchOS 9.2 is compatible with all Apple Watch models released after the Apple Watch Series 4 was released.
How to Make Use of Apple Watch’s Running Track Detection Function
The feature was initially made accessible to users in the United States in December of the previous year; in February of this year, it was rolled out to users in Canada, Australia, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The regional feature support page on Apple’s website is not up to date and does not yet reflect the most recent additions.
