Comedian Aries Spears claims that the people who are suing him and Tiffany Haddish for molesting and grooming are trying to blackmail them.
“Listen, for legal reasons, of course, I really can’t talk about anything right now,” the 47-year-old stand-up comic said in a clip from his “Spears & Steinberg” podcast posted to Instagram on Wednesday.
“But I want to say more or less to all loyal listeners: thank you for your support and for your love. Listen, this is an extortion case, this is a shakedown. We are not deterred.”
In a lawsuit previously obtained by Vidak For Congress, siblings only like Jane Doe, now 22, and John Doe, now 14, alleged that Spears and Haddish forced them to film explicit skits when they were younger.
Earlier this month, the accusers’ mother told the Daily Beast that the “Girls Trip” star approached Jane during summer camp and told her she had “discovered a perfect role” for her.
Haddish, 42, has also taken up the lawsuit, saying in a statement via Instagram: “I know people have a lot of questions. I get it. I’m with you. Unfortunately, as there is an ongoing legal case, I can get on it. not much to say about it at the moment.”
